Ok, so in the first 12 hours of the new 07/08 season 4 carp, from 10 to 20lb, were caught. ALL COMMONS!!

this is my 1st fish of the seasson i caught it at 7.20am on the 16th, it weight 13lb 15oz.

I arrived at 12.00 on the 15th June, set up on peg 48. After waiting for what felt like days and sitting through gallons of rain, we were given the nod at 23.30 to start fishing.
23.55 got a drop back and the result was 6lb bream, not really what I was after but a decent fish never the less.
After a quite night decided a change of tactics were in order. At 14.30 on the 16th a fish made it's self known directly over my bait, after 2 mins another drop back and then a one toner as the line ripped of my spool.
The result was a 20lb 2 oz common.
My first session on Beacon, the first day of the season and my first ever 20lb. Well worth the wait i reckon.
